About Romany
Advice that sounds like a human, not a product brochure.
I started in finance at sixteen. By eighteen, I was the UK's youngest qualified financial adviser. I loved the work, but the industry felt stuck. Too many suits. Too much jargon. Too few people actually feeling better after the conversation.
How I got here
I grew up in Yorkshire watching my dad build his mortgage business from home. Finance wasn’t intimidating at our kitchen table, it was just problem-solving. So at sixteen I qualified in mortgages, and then applied to the Quilter Financial Adviser School before I was technically allowed in. I became the youngest person to pass those exams.
I went on to build my own client book inside NeedingAdvice.co.uk, my dad’s firm, specialising in self-employed people who’d never had proper advice before. And I kept hearing the same thing: “I feel calmer already.”
Why The Finance Woman
So much of the finance industry is built for people who already know the game. I wanted to build something for people who don’t, especially the self-employed, especially women, especially anyone who’s been made to feel stupid by a suit with a pension chart.
The Finance Woman is my answer: modern, holistic, jargon-free financial advice that meets you where you are.
